Small enough to know every guest. Large enough to disappear into for a week.
Aster House sits on the Big Sur coast, where the land folds steeply toward the water and the weather rewrites the view hourly. Twenty-two rooms, each oriented to the Pacific, form the whole of the house, there is no wing you have not walked, no corridor that feels like a hotel.
Days here are deliberately unstructured. A restaurant downstairs for when you want it. Wellness treatments when the body asks. Private trails leaving straight from the door for everything in between. Nothing is scheduled for you; everything is within reach.

Every room faces the water.
The house holds twenty-two rooms and not one more. Each is turned toward the Pacific, so the ocean sets the light from first grey through to the last of the evening. Materials are quiet and tactile; the view is the only thing asked to perform.
The Table
The restaurant is downstairs, and it is ours.
Guests eat on site, without a drive along the coast road at dusk. The dining room sits within the house, open to the same horizon as the rooms above it, a short walk from your door, and the natural centre of the evening.
Wellness
Treatments, on the coast's own pace.
Wellness treatments are offered on site, arranged around your day rather than a timetable. Rooms are kept quiet and low-lit, with the sound of the Pacific carrying in through the window.
Treatments are booked with the house during your stay. Tell us what you are after when you enquire and we will arrange it before you arrive.
Private trails
Walk out of the door and keep going.
The house keeps its own private walking trails. They begin at the property and move out through the coastal landscape, no car, no trailhead parking, no crowd. Early morning is the best of it, when the fog is still deciding.
